Hey Everyone! Sorry there was no post last week, I was a little busy enjoying my much needed vacation! I flew out from Grand Rapids Wednesday morning and was able to make it to sunny Arizona that afternoon which was fantastic getting those 2 extra hours to settle in. I met up with one of my childhood girlfriends down there and spent the entire weekend at the show seeing everything from reining to performance, halter and a little bit of jumping.

The competition was reasonable down there for both the amateur and the open classes, but my favorite had to have been the Arabian English Pl. watching one of my favorite performance horses hit the ring in nothing less than spectacular. I may be a little bias as well since that's the same class that I'll be showing in, but hopefully within the next couple months, we'll be ready to go ourselves!

I didn't take as many pictures as I wanted while I was down there, but I look at it that I was living the moment and I'll have those memories forever...just wish it was a little bit warmer. Yeah, so it wasn't as warm as I thought it would be, it did get up in the 60's at least which was much warmer than it was at home, but would have enjoyed it a little bit more if I didn't have to wear a jacket. The views were gorgeous though. From one of the performance rings outside, you could see the mountains in the background, taking your breath away every time. Would love to be down there to compete, maybe someday, but at least I can take away the memories and the new jacket that I bought!

Since I've gotten back from sunny Arizona, it's been too cold to work Paxton again...it's almost starting to become a routine and we're closing in on the first show in less than 60 days, so getting a little nervous. So, I did make an executive decision. I need to board somewhere, like yesterday and I think I found a place :) Back to that exciting feeling.

Of course, my mother isn't too happy that I'm going to a different barn but it's my decision and I think it'll better help myself and Paxton get ready for the season. First two months are crucial and it really sets the bar for our short season, since the season is about 6 months. I'm hoping that it works out of course since I'm putting my faith in someone to really help us and I'm just a bit nervous since I don't want it all to be for nothing of course.

We'll see. It made more sense for me to go for it than not.
